Donna Mills started her private practice in 1999 on the Sunshine Coast and has expanded to employ a team of experienced and caring Occupational Therapists. Horizon Occupational Therapy Services provide assessment and management of adults with difficulties participating in their everyday activities. We provide services in your own home, from Bribie Island to Gympie.
Donna mills - principle occupational therapist
Donna is an Occupational Therapist with over 30 years’ experience in both public health and her own private practice. She has a wealth of experience in a diverse range of practice domains in both acute and community care. More recently she has been focusing on assisting clients to return and stay home as safe and independently as possible. She is a specialist in Minor and Major Home Modifications, Prescription of Assistive Equipment, Falls Prevention and Driving Assessment and Vehicle modifications. Her passion for community work came from working in the acute setting of neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation and getting people back to their own home and community. She has also undertaken specialty training in the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease and is a Certified LSVT BIG Clinician. Working for many years in Adult and Aged Mental Health Services has allowed her to have a truly holistic framework when working with clients. She been a lecturer in Occupational Therapy at the University of the Sunshine Coast and employed as the Occupational Therapy Clinical Educator for Queensland Health in this district. She also has qualifications in teaching.
Dani lees - occupational therapist
Dani is our specialist Occupational Therapy Driving Assessor. She is experienced in assessing, advising and rehabilitating drivers with injury, illness or disability. Dani grew up on the Sunshine Coast and has worked here since graduation. She has extensive experience working in community Adult Mental Health Services. She also enjoys working with older people and Veterans providing Falls Prevention and Home Modifications to promote safety within the home. Her passion is working with people and families and she has a strong focus on community connectedness.
