Department of Veterans Affairs
Servicing the Veteran’s community on the Sunshine Coast since 2000.
Horizon OT are registered providers of services for Veterans and war widows under the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA).
DVA occupational therapy is designed to help veterans maintain their health, capability, and independence. It focuses on practical functions of daily life, such as showering, cooking, dressing, and managing routines safely.
The service is available for veterans with Gold or White Cards, with Gold Cards covering any clinical need and White Cards covering accepted service-related conditions.
Occupational therapy is provided in conjunction with the Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP), which offers aids, equipment, and modifications to enhance independence and function.
The process involves a referral from a GP or specialist, followed by an assessment to determine the most suitable items for the veteran's needs.
